Many sunscreens have an ingredient in them that is the same as what is used in nail polish remover. If you use sunscreen and you notice your nails get sticky, soft, or messed up, then it's your sunscreen ruining your manicure.
I have noticed that my son's baby sunscreen messes up my nail polish. It will get sticky and soft feeling so I try to wash my hands and nails with soap to remove that chemical to try to save my nails.
When it first happened, I thought what is happening to my nails so I did a little researching online to find out that its an ingredient within certain sunscreens. I was happy to figure out why so I could save my pretty nails.
Now I ask my husband to put that sunscreen on our son. Another option is to try wearing gloves when applying sunscreen to others or yourself. Or change sunscreens. Our sport sunscreen and my face sunscreen do not have that ingredient in them so I don't have that issue with those sunscreens. Plus we got a little concerned that we were putting on a baby sunscreen on our child that has something in it that removes nail polish.
